The child welfare system is sometimes decribed as a highway to homelessness. It is estimated about 20% of young adults who are in the system end up homeless when they age out at age 18. The foster care system is meant to be a temporary housing situation, but often times the system fails to find permant residence. The lack of stability leaves chidren and young adolescents transitioning from  home to home or without a home altogether. 

 

We want to take a moment and acknowledge those that gave to give hope to a young adult in crisis. With your support it makes it possible to help stop this vicous cycle of homelessness and make a life changing impact on a young adolecents life.

Founded in 2023, Refuge of hope IL aims to assist youth aging out of the foster care system. We strive to give young adults a fighting chance to suceed by providing them the tools, resources and guidance. Your gift of donation assists in:

• Prevent or Provide homeless youth with shelter and independent living skills

• Reduce delinquency among at-risk youth

• Strengthens stabililty, provides low cost housing and essentials 

• Critical therapeutic support
